Friends of Zero Waste networking reception
Thank you!
On behalf of Friends of Zero Waste, a global PET plastic industry collaboration, thank you to the 200+ who attended our networking reception on Monday, November 25, at the Westin Josun Hotel Busan, during the fifth United Nations’ Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on Plastic Pollution (UN INC-5).
We were thrilled to connect with old friends and forge new relationships while discussing PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic, easily identified by the #1 resin code, which differs from other plastics.
PET is the most recycled plastic in the world, fully recyclable, and can be made with up to 100% recycled content, which can’t be said for aluminum or glass. PET bottles and containers are made to be remade. They have the lowest emissions compared to alternatives because PET is lightweight and uses less energy to produce.
Recycling PET reduces plastic waste, keeps plastic out of landfills, and contributes to a circular economy. More than 50% of PET is recycled globally, globally, more than any other plastic, but the PET industry wants to do more—with your help.
